Journal #3 chapters 8-9 In the perspective of Uncle Jack

That girl scout shouldn't be saying some of the things she says. Atticus better wash her mouth out with soap. Saying things like damn and hell, at that age? she's only in second grade. For god's sake I'm afraid to see what she'll act like in her adult days if this bad mouthing keeps up. I think she has potencial on the count that she can read. She can be INGENUOUS and full of PERPLEXITY. she doesn't need to ISOLATE herself inside the wrong doings of hoodlums. I am not too FANATIC of her current choices. She can go far with her knowlage. I worry for her sometimes, I really do. But unlike Aunt Alex, I don't think she should be pushed into being a girly girl. All I'm saying is that if she get's into enough fights, bad things will come her way. I don't think anyone in this family wants her to get into the wrong hands.

Ah winter. It's the 1930's and we havn't seen snow since 1885. Good to see it again. Just like it's good to see the family. The snow brings a sense of calmness to maycomb. With all the fuss about Boo Radley and this trial, It's good to feel some-what calm.

Just when I began to think everything would chill down I have to break up a fight between Scout and Francis. Francis says Scout called him a Whore-Lady. That girl had her punishment coming. First she calls Francis a Whore-Lady and now she's wishing death upon me? I have have a mind to lick her in front of her own family.

After settling down I DEBATED wether or not I should go to Scout's room and ask her if she's still mad. I knew she was. She tells me I don't understand children and I didn't listen to her side. She's got a point there. She's also got a point because I did tell her she could curse in serious times. And having her dad called a nigger-lover is pretty serious. His mom will hear about this. But what about me? If i don't understand children, should I even get married?
